WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Whether it’s in athletics or academics, Warren JFK senior Michael Condoleon has always had the right mindset.

“You don’t got to be the biggest, you don’t got to be like the strongest, but if you really put your mind to something, you work hard at it, you can achieve it,” Condoleon said.

All around, he’s seeing it pay off as he nears the end of his senior year at Kennedy.

“Just showing the younger generations and people that come up, like if you just put your mind to hard work, you can play at the next level,” Condoleon said.

The three-sport star collected 12 total varsity letters for the Eagles between soccer, basketball and baseball.

Along the way, he earned plenty of accolades across all three individually and as a team, including making this year’s WKBN Starting 5 and collecting his 1,00th career point. He also will graduate with two school records for career steals and three-pointers.

“It’s everything to go into a game, go into a practice, being with someone that you enjoy, being around and being around a group that you enjoy being around,” Condoleon said. “Here at Kennedy, all our teams, they’ve been families. It’s just been easy to really adapt to that and just have fun with it.”

But the classroom is another place Condoleon shines, with a 4.13 grade point average, something that has been the number one goal in his book.

“Coming into high school, I really just wanted to focus on academics first and kind of value that before all the athletics, all the sports I play,” Condoleon said.

After graduation, Condoleon will continue his academic and athletic career at John Carroll, where he will cut it down to just one sport (basketball) while studying sports management/sports leadership with a minor in business.

“I’m proud of myself and what I was able to do in the classroom and also on the field or court. I’m going to carry that or I’m going to try to carry that into the college experience,” Condoleon said. “I’m going to focus on my studies, focus on what I’m majoring [in], what I’m studying, also focus on basketball, but really make sure my studies first because you are there for the education.”
