Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov reaffirmed on Wednesday his support for Health Minister Petar Moskov, assuring that he will not demand his resignation.

This development comes after the opposition demanded on Wednesday the resignation of the minister due to key parts of the healthcare reforms proposed by Moskov being revoked by the Constitutional Court.

The Constitutional Court declared on Tuesday the proposed division of services paid by the National Health Insurance Fund (NZOK) into basic and additional packages as unconstitutional.

Borisov assured that the recommendations of the court will be implemented and the shortcomings in the healthcare reform will be addressed.

Earlier on Wednesday, Moskov vowed to carry out the necessary corrections in line with the verdict of the court.

He said that the health ministry will clear any shortcomings and will resubmit the proposals as amendments to the Health Insurance Act.

According to the opposition, the decision of the court is another sign for the government's failure in its healthcare policies.

Back in February, the incumbent government was subject to its first vote of no confidence for the failure of its healthcare policies.

However the opposition was unsuccessful and the government survived the censure motion.
