The Tavush for the Motherland movement’s huge rally at Republic Square, the heart of Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, started with the performance of the Armenian national anthem.

Then, the Lord's Prayer was recited led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, Primate of the Diocese of Tavush of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Subsequently, Archbishop Galstanyan stated as follows, in particular: "On this bright day, when our feelings are mixed, the May 9, in the joy that was stolen from us, our once triple holiday, in these times of honor, we have gathered together to reaffirm and say that nothing and no one, neither in heaven, nor on earth, nor authorities, neither countries, nor any kind of force can suppress the glorious spirit of Armenians. We are coming from Tavush [Province], from the gates of Armenia, from the people with honor to the brothers and sisters with honor."

Also, Archbishop Galstanyan thanked the people, movements, individuals, organizations, and reporters who supported this process.

"We announced in our Kirants, Voskepar, Baghanis villages [in Tavush] that the soul has defeated the courage. And now it's time for the [Armenian] tricolor [flag] to defeat the ‘black and white.’ Our movement has no color, but it is a combination of all colors. And that combination is white: the meaning of reconciliation, peace, victory," Archbishop Galstanyan emphasized.

On May 4, the Tavush for the Motherland movement had started a march, led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, from Kirants border village of Tavush Province to Yerevan, and this march reached the Armenian capital Thursday.

Those who have joined this movement are against the Armenian authorities’ policy of unilateral concessions to Azerbaijan.
